Original painting description: During the Renaissance in Italy, art education dissemination for women was severely restricted and unequal compared to men. The prevailing societal norms and cultural attitudes reinforced the belief that women's primary roles were as wives and mothers, and pursuing art as a serious profession was largely discouraged. Consequently, formal art academies and institutions were predominantly male-dominated spaces, with limited to no access for women.
Women were generally denied entry into established art schools, galleries, and guilds, which were crucial for receiving formal training and professional recognition. Their education, if any, often revolved around learning domestic skills and other areas deemed appropriate for women's roles.
The title of the painting is a reflection of my thoughts & feelings on the topic.
